USING MOON+ READER (free version) FOR OUR FREE DIGITAL BOOKS

You can use whatever programs you want to read Colfax Mann books, you DO NOT need to use Moon+. I provide info on Moon+ only because I know some people may not be familiar with EPUB readers, and I'm not either, but I do use Moon+, so I had to figure it out enough to use it. This is neither an endorsement nor a review of Moon+, but if I can figure it out, that's a positive.

Moon+ works well with Colfax Mann BOOKS, but for PDF PRINTABLES I recommend using whatever PDF platform came with your device. They can handle the printing at 8.5" X 11", but Moon+ is good for enjoying our FREE Ebooks. Tap Moon+'s image below if you want to get Moon+.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING MOON+ TO ENJOY OUR BOOKS

1.png

1. On colfaxmann.com, find the book you want to download and click the button. It will automatically download and...

2. ...this "Open" option may pop up. I DO NOT USE THIS. YES IT WILL IMMEDIATELY OPEN THE BOOK, BUT MY LIFE IS ALREADY FRUSTRATING ENOUGH WITHOUT NEVER AGAIN BEING ABLE TO FIND THE BOOK. So, instead I...

3. Go to my apps and click on Moon+, which then...

4. ...opens and takes me to this fancy-dancy little library of all my books. (If I have an open book in Moon+ it will take me to where I left off in that book, but this tutorial is for first-timers who shouldn't have an open book. Also, don't get all hurt because your library isn't as awesome as mine yet.)  Now I click on those three dots up there and...

5. ...up pops this menu, and now I click on "Import Books".

6. Now, I can't explain any of this magic, but IF that little box says "/sdcard," and I click "OK" - then I'm off to the races.

7. But now things get dangerous. You see how more boxes than just Blankie's box are checked, right? We don't want any books other than "Blankie." But, do you see how tiny that "Select None" button is? Well, I have to hit that tiny "Select None" button, with my fat fingers, WITHOUT hitting the "Import" button RIGHT next to it. If I accidentally hit the "Import" button I will immediately have 17 imports to Moon+, sixteen of which I'll have to delete. And once the import starts, no matter how hard you hit the "Cancel" button you can't stop it. It's like trying to stop an avalanche by throwing your phone at it. So far my record for forced imports is 66. I'm more careful now, and you should be too.

8. I pause, check to make sure all the boxes are cleared, including Blankie's, and I get ready to go back in and finish the fight.

9. Now, with all the boxes cleared, I tap the "Blankie" box and then hit "Import."

10. From out of nowhere Moon+ comes back into my screen to get my back. I tap "OK."

11. I am met with this sweet sign of victory – the book I want, in my nifty little library. I tap it.

12. Now that my book is open, I can tap it in the center (punch it in the gut) and that...

13. ...brings up a some handy-dandy little menus, and if I tap those three lines I get...

14. ...this menu of all the chapters in the book! Perfect for navigating!

15. Alternatively, when I punched my screen in the gut I could have then tapped this backwards arrow, and that takes me back to...

16. ...my super-duper little library, where I can tap the book again and...

17. ...I'm right back where I left off! I told you, MAGIC!

You'll have to figure out for yourself what all those other buttons do. I still don't know half of them.

18. *1 QUICK CAVEAT*  The 4 Picture Books will not have a chapter menu... yet. I still have to learn how to do that. Right now I can tap the left or right side of the screen to go back or forward, and my volume button speeds to the front or back of the book. That's all the navigation I have.

This will not be on the test, but the current picture books are done as PDFs. As EPUBS they were way too large of files. So I need to either learn to make them smaller without losing quality, which, let's face it, if I drew it it needs all the quality help it can get, or I need to learn to paginate my PDF files. I think it's going to be the latter.

Good reading!!!
